The manor wasn't unlike what Lovino had been expecting-- he knew it was going to be impressive; atleast, he liked to tell himself that. However, the one thing he found to complain about (and Lovino just loved to complain about things); was the lack of.. well, anyone.
Sure, he'd been able to find his room-- but that was only because the hallway and room number had been written on his letter (with the worst directions ever, he'd like to point out).
After abandoning his things in the room, he'd left to explore the place.
And had found it completely vacant.
Not that he'd been scared or anything-- that would be stupid; but it had been incredibly strange. Of course, not a lot of people went around wandering like he did, so it would make sense if they were just in their rooms.
At the moment, Lovino had found himself in what must have been the kitchen (atleast, if the stove was anything to go by); looking for any sort of snack. There was no sort of food substance back in his room, and the letter didn't specify when dinner would be.
And he was hungry.
"Aren't there supposed to be cooks here or something?"

The soft ticking of the clock outside on the hallway was calming, in a sense. Roderich had arrived at the manor early on the day, believing that being fashionably early, was far better than arriving fashionably late. Of course he did notice some noise that was already coming from within, but that was something to avoid, he had figured. Instead the brunette allowed the help to take him to his room, where he now was seated in a chair near the only window, a book in hand.
The sounds around him had long since been drowned out after the Austrian had become absorbed into his book, no sound would get him out of it either. Turning the page, he became aware he was nearing the end of it. He peered at the page from over his glasses, contemplating on whether or not to leave the book for later. A difficult decision. With a slight sigh, he picked up the bookmark, neatly placing it on the page he was at before he put the book down, on a small table he had put next to his chair for convenience.
That was when he noticed how quiet the place was. While it had a certain familiarity to it, there was something Roderich disliked about it. Only that soft ticking of the clock lingered around in the air. He stayed seated as he listened for a moment, noticing how it began to get on his nerves. The man's gaze was fixed on the door before he finally got up. Perhaps a small walk would do him so good, see a bit more of the manor, and maybe he could find the dinning room. There was no certainty what so ever if they would be picked up, or that they'd simply get a notification before hand. The last thing Roderich wanted, was to get lost, which he usually did get anyway. Arriving late at the house itself was no big deal compared to getting late to the actual event itself. And manners were always above all else.
Roderich stepped into the hallway, brushing off and straightening his sleeves. There was no real reason to it, he just felt he should do so. Once he was happy with that, he went down the hall.
At first it seemed like he was getting around decently, the place didn't seem that big, yet after passing countless of doors, he did feel a little lost Not exactly the most pleasant way to get to know your surroundings. Yet, he continued, now aiming to get back to where he started from.
The kitchen wasn't that far away anymore. Roderich wouldn't have paid much attention to it, if it wasn't for someone standing there. The brunette came to a halt, standing in the door opening. He was certain the other person hadn't notice him either. Now that he was here, surely he could settle for some tea, if nothing else. How rude it had been that there had been no one sent out to see if their guests had wanted anything.
Roderich inspected the person, before deciding to speak up, "Excuse me, but you work here, don't you?" Normally he would just ask for what he wanted, but he wasn't entirely sure if this guy was indeed one of the helps. He did look the part, Roderich concluded.
