Name: Roderich Edelstein.
Age: 26
Country:Republik Österreich or simply put, Austria.
Appearance:
Roderich is pretty much of average height and sports short layered brown hair, parted on the right, with a most peculiar strand of hair that will always stand out. Don't even bother trying to fix it, the strand, nicknamed Mariazell, won't budge a inch. Judging from the looks of it, he seems like a fragile guy, with just enough meat on his bones. Never slouching or 'hanging' around, Roderich has a very uptight look about him, which his posture certain contributes to. His clothes are somewhat flashy, but maintain a sophisticated and classy look, almost every outfit is accompanied by a white and somewhat ruffled cravat. When going out, he is sometimes seen in a long purple-ish blue coat. Usually it's just a tidy suit, sporting either the exact same colour, or the always classy black.
When looking at his face, you will immediately notice the small beauty mark on the left side of his face, close to the corner of his mouth. His dark purple eyes seem somewhat narrowed, giving the impression he is almost always annoyed. Roderich also wears glasses, but his eyesight is just fine without them. It's simply a accessory he found he can't do without.

Dislikes:
♫ His extremely bad sense of direction.
♫ Getting lost.
♫ Oceans/the sea.
♫ Sea creatures, like crabs and jellyfish.
♫ Idiots/idiotic behavior/slow people/dumb remarks.
♫ violence.
♫ Disrespectful behavior.
♫ Bugs, they make him edgy, especially in groups.
Fears:
While it is extremely selfish, one of Roderich's biggest fears is losing his wealth and status. He can not imagen ending up in a position where he needs to work a real job, he does enjoy having a company on his name and earning from that.
Another fear he has is for the ocean, there is just something about it that unsettles him. He's fine watching it, and he knows some basic swimming, but the ocean isn't a swimming pool. It's gross, and filled with creepy little animals.
Quirks:
When clothing is starting to fall apart, he has to fix it, and he swears he will succeed. No use putting up a fight against that because he will get to it eventually.
He will also wrinkle his nose a little in disgust and frown ever so lightly whenever he disapproves of something. It's not certain if he knows he does this.
Personality:
Well mannered, intelligent and with good taste for most anything. These are three traits in which Roderich takes a lot of pride. But obviously there is much more to this man than that. Growing up in a more than wealthy family brings along responsibilities, and one can't simply ignore this. The Edelstein family has made sure that Roderich would be the man that he is today.
He is, and used to be, somewhat timid, one might say he is shying away from contact with others. Not a bad observation on their part, but it has little to do with being shy. Oh no, it isn't being shy at all actually. You see, Roderich has a low tolerance for crowds, and for stupid behavior, the patience to put up with anyone who clowns around simply isn't present. (Unless you somehow manage to not be a complete nuisance to the Brunette, that is.) This isn't to say that he's a cranky snob, such a statement wouldn't be entirely fair, when only based on this statement. In most situations he manages to stay calm, with a surprising amount of patience.
When it comes to any type of debate, Roderich would prefer to watch from afar, aid the one in charge, whether they like it or not, and then just observe. When someone verbally attacks him on his believes however, he is more than capable to stand his ground, and chew his opponent out. When the Austrian has a problem with you, he is not afraid to let you know, usually this is right when you get under his skin, yet he fails to realize that it then can turn into encouragement for the other to keep it up.
Smart and creative, Roderich has spent a lot of his time on learning about the world, about art, and even more about music. He has a talent for just about any instrument you find in a orchestra. His preferred instrument seems to be the piano, followed closely by the violin. Music is a outlet for him to let out any feeling he has bottled up, a bad habit he has yet to get away from.
Not just that, he's also a very picky man, about everything. People, food, music, landscapes, decorations...you name it, and he has a opinion on it. It's difficult to guess what his taste exactly is, there's just to many random elements involved for anyone to truly be able to predict what he will like.
He's not the strongest person either. He does believe one should defend what they believe in, and hold their values high, and so he does. Rather in a well mannered way than to actually resort to any form of violence, of course. This is mainly the reason why he has often had help from others in the past whenever a argument has gotten out of hand, simply because he himself wasn't, and isn't, strong enough in a physical manner. This does not make him useless, just a bit of a burden at times. What he lacks in strength, Roderich makes up for with intelligence and wits.
History:
A modest mansion sat just outside of Vienna, Austria. The Edelstein estate was a rather impressive piece of architecture, a lot of money had gone into it, so that was no surprise. There was a great view on the capital from where they were situated, and yet they escaped all the noise that came from that place. This house was where Roderich was born, welcomed into the arms of his parents and the staff present at the time. His father was a successful business man, and his mother, perhaps surprisingly enough, wrote books for a living. While the general feeling inside the house was a pleasant atmosphere to live in, there was a lack of love between the couple that hid behind that veil.
Roderich was an only child. That on itself is nothing bad and no big deal, it just tended to get terribly boring around him, not to mention he would more often than not feel lonely. Being so far removed from the city, living in a house that stood all on it's own had it's disadvantage for a child at that young age. His mother had also taken it upon herself to home school their son. Roderich vaguely remembered his parents discussing the issue one night, believing it to be far better and more reliable than sending him to a public, and even private school. While this was a great advantage for his intellect, this also proved to be a major setback for his social development.
Along with these lessons, his parents would also prepare him for his 'obligations'. Wealth came with responsibilities, and they had a reputation to keep in mind. It was only appropriate for their son to learn how to behave, general manners and etiquette was a must. They could not afford mistakes to be made during any type of social gathering. These lessons were demanding at first, and Roderich developed a dislike towards the way his parents handled things as he grew older. The task at hand, learning how to be a proper gentleman, was barely a challenge to him anymore. Needles to say his parents were pleased with the results.
When Roderich turned 16, his father had decided to take the young Austrian under his wing, wanting to prepare him for taking over the elders business. Roderich had been in the garden when his father approached him. Things didn't go well.
The brunette had no interest in this business what so ever, and politely declined the offer, for his interest lied in music. Discussions had followed, dragging on for days. The once so peaceful house grew tense, and the relationship between the two spiraled downwards. The boy hadn't been known to rebel, until this day. Eventually the father had given up debating the issue, sending Roderich off to private school, forcing him to accept this career.
This simply became another opportunity for Roderich to grow as a person, despite obviously being startled by this change. The only contact he has had before was with his family, family acquaintances and some people from around town. Not a lot of interaction was going on between him and those groups, as you can guess, and even less interaction between himself, and people from his age.
Roderich was, simply put, the odd one out. It did not matter however, Roderich knew why he was here, and studied. A four year course, filled with endless name calling and immature pranks. A true hell to endure, yet the outcome was rewarding. Upon returning home, Roderich had finally accepted the job his father offered, earning enough money to move out, planning to pursuit a dream of his own.
With all this time on his hands now, the Austrian decided he'd travle a little first, to satisfy his curiousity about the world. With all this money, he could do so easily. Do a little sightseeing and settle down at nice places. And so he had done, now comfortably setteled in circletown.

Distant sounds hovered around, giving one the idea there was life gathered around themselves. Yet these sounds, they were illusions, echoing trough the Austrian's head to replace the silence that occupied the small apartment the man was dumped in. To him it still sounded like people walked around, he could have sworn that he even felt the footsteps vibrate trough the floor, causing the throbbing of his head. Little did he know he was passed out on a floor, but that aside. There was still life, there were still people and he was not alone. These sounds were rather enjoyable, they, on their turn, had also drowned out the nervous and unsettling feeling that had lingered within Roderich upon arrival. It calmed him down, even in his 'sleep', which would always result in a rational mind later when he would wake, on that was not clouded by fear or paranoia about a seemingly dead-like town.
But then, in the middle of their busiest moment, the sounds began to decrease, to be replaced by a bizarre sort of ringing in Roderich's ear. Not to mention the endless throbbing. What in heavens name was going on right now? The eerie feeling was starting to get to Roderich once more, tensing the unconscious body in its struggle to awake. A soft groan escaped from his throat while he lay there on the cold, dirty kitchen floor of a unknown apartment in the middle of what was basically nowhere to him. Thankfully the endless ringing in his ear was getting less by the minute, while the throbbing of his head only became worse and a lot more painful. He would remain 'asleep' while the pain grew stronger, making it feel as if his mind slowly was about to explode.
It came as no surprise that as soon as the pain grew, the man was beginning to wake up, detesting this everlasting throbbing. The expression on his face was noticeably changing, at first he had looked calm but gradually he looked a lot more troubled as time went on. Roderich was obviously in pain when he finally collected enough strength to force his eyes open. Everything around him was such a big blur, it certainly didn't help he was left pretty dazed as well. Where was he? More importantly, why was he at an unknown place?
His hand reached for his face, gently adjusting his glasses, he was lucky to still have them. Roderich felt relieved, despite his confusion, when the throbbing lessened. Now that he had woken up his mind seemed to be willing to cooperate and give him a break from this slight torture. Perhaps he had hit his head, of course Roderich noticed he was on a floor, so it was but a mere possibility. On the other hand, he could also believe it was his own doing, as some sort of last resort to get himself back upon his feet. It wasn't much use to give that issue any more thought than he had already done, for his concern now was to figure out where he was.
The Austrian carefully began to push himself up in a sitting position, his face immediately displaying his disgust when he got a good look of the surroundings. So he seemed to have found himself on a dirty kitchen floor of an equally dirty kitchen in the back of what seemed to be a mere commoners apartment. How odd, wasn't he on his way to the conference? The last thing Roderich truly recalled was checking the address one last time, only to learn he was going the right way before he ended up waking in this place. Roderich proceeded to push himself up, getting back on his feet, brushing off his dirtied coat. Honestly, if this was Gilbert's doing...
Yes, that was the first thing he thought of, that this would all have been one of Gilbert's idiotic jokes to annoy the Austrian more than he usually did. Well, he had succeeded! Sadly, figuring that out did not solve the brunette's problem, not at all. He was still lost, if not stuck, in a stranger's apartment.
The Austrian began to make his way trough the small kitchen with caution, being in such a quiet, seemingly abandoned apartment could have anyone on edge like this. "Hello? Is anyone there?" he called out, sounding just as careful as he moved. Surely someone had to be around, right?
